International Women’s Day 2020 Noon Hour Concert: LIZA

In celebration of International Women’s Day, take in a noon-hour concert featuring Toronto-based R&B artist, LIZA. Liza (pronounced Lee-za) is an R&B singer/songwriter. Born and raised in Toronto, Liza grew up in a traditional Ethiopian household immersed with the Ethiopian musical culture. After beginning to play piano and write poems at the age of 11, Liza’s passion for music grew throughout the years, as well as her desire to create her own sounds.

In honour of International Women's Day, the Research Facility for Women's Health and Wellbeing (Psychology Department) will be holding its fourth annual Research and Revolt conference. This two-day interdisciplinary conference showcases innovative research related to women and girls. Stay tuned for our call for abstracts in January!

International Women's Day 2020 - Faculty and Staff Breakfast

On Sunday, March 8, people around the globe will celebrate International Women's Day and the achievements of women everywhere. All U of G faculty and staff are invited to mark the occasion and show support for gender balance during a breakfast event on Friday, March 6, hosted by the GenEQ Advisory Group, working to advance the status of women at the University of Guelph.

Join Elder Jan Sherman as she discusses the 'The Sacredness of Women'. In support of International Women's Day, Jan will discuss relevant topics around the sacredness of women through the sharing of traditional Anishinaabe Teachings.

Women's Hockey Fall Faceoff

Help celebrate the national champion Gryphon Women's Hockey Team. Join us October 24 in Downtown Guelph at the Sleeman Centre where the Gryphons will take on the Western Mustangs at 7 p.m. It's a great chance for faculty, staff, alumni, junior Gryphons and families to connect and show their Gryphon Pride. GenEQ Staff Mentorship Conversation Cafe

The GenEQ: Advancing the Status of Women at the University of Guelph initiative is interested in learning more about women staff members’ needs around mentorship. We are hosting a conversation cafe where you’ll have the opportunity to discuss your thoughts during facilitated conversations with other staff members. A light lunch will be served.
