Step 2: Understanding Challenges and Solutions (2018)

To prioritize goals within the GenEQ initiative, the University will research its own challenges, such as :

• distribution of women and other under-represented gender groups in academic and professional areas and in leadership positions
• gender patterns in grant submissions, funding and nominations for research awards
• policies and practices for hiring, professional development, performance review and wage setting
• balance of scholarships across genders, particularly in areas with gender imbalances

The research will also:

• assess the culture of inclusion on our campuses
• explore international best practices for achieving gender equity
• review leadership programs at U of G and beyond
