GenEq Webinar: Gender Equity in the Time of COVID-19
Date and Time
Details
The COVID-19 pandemic has undoubtedly created a multitude of pressures for everyone in our community. At the same time, the burdens presented by the pandemic are not equally experienced, and often exacerbate existing inequalities. GenEq is working to understand the burdens faced by women on our campuses at this time.
COVID-19 has laid bare and even intensified various forms of structural inequalities, highlighting historic racial disparities as well as health and economic inequalities worldwide. The pandemic has also had a disproportionate impact on women, for instance, in terms of gendered household labour and women’s over-representation in the care economy, resulting in differential impacts on many members of our University of Guelph community.
Please join us to hear from three U of G community members as they share their experiences and perspectives.
